   Taurus, The Bull

Behind the Sign

The story behind the sign of the bull can be seen from various points of view. Some people see the story of Zeus and his infatuation with the Phoenician Europa as the beginning of this story. In this story, Zeus turned himself into a white bull who Europa found to be gentle and kind. He would carry Europa across the sea and played with her on the beach to strengthen their bond. Of course, to some this does not explain how the bull became a constellation in the heavens.

Another story came from the Scriptures of Delphi, where there was a terrifying bull who raged upon a nearby town. Persephone, the spring goddess, sees him trampling the flowers and goes over to him to calm him. Persephone teaches him patience and also teaches him how to channel his strength appropriately. When Persephone is on land during the spring, she rides this bull through her field of flowers.  When she returns to Hades, the bull (named Cerus) returns to the sky.

Scientifically, the bull is the male form of cattle.  They are considered fearsome and volatile to many people who encounter him.  Naturally, the cow, which is the female form of cattle is considered more calm and serene...until you bother her calf.  Despite the cattle's reputation for being temperamental, they simply enjoy peace.  They are security-oriented and they do not do well when their environment changes too drastically. Just like humans, however, they do have other cows that they really like.  In fact, bulls have a distinct social society.  They are capable of forming close ties with other bulls and even decide on matters as a unit.  They are however known for holding grudges against a certain bull for a long time. They know who they like or who they do not like. They have a social hiearchy, with the more dominant male being the leader and even sleeping in the most comfortable spots.  Cows are most recongized as being a great source of dairy, particularly from the milk that comes from their utters.  The better they are treated, the more milk they will have.  Cattle are grazers, so they usually eat ground level weeds or grass. Cattle eat six hours a day, and can chew food up to 8 hours a day! They drink 30 gallons of water as well.  Bulls have excellent senses, especially when it comes to taste and smell.  They can even smell whether food is healthy for them and can taste even the smallest grain of salt.  They are also extremely curious and investigative. There used to be a myth that bulls were easily angered by the color red, referring to how angry the bull got over a spanish matadore's cape.  This is not the case, however, as bulls are color-blind to red and green colors. Typically, it is the sudden movements of the cape that irritates him.  When bulls are confined for a long time, they usually enjoy their freedom in the outdoors and tend to be extremely excited when released. Bulls lose energy rather easily because of their body weight, so it is very important for them to rest.  Too much activity can sometimes wear on them fatally.

In astrology, the sign of Taurus is affiliated with peace, serenity, pleasure, and determination. However, it also the sign of sloth, greed, stubborness, and overindulgence.  It is the 2nd sign in the zodiac. People who have planets in these signs tend to be the most peace-loving individuals we will find.  They enjoy pleasure and they appreciate the natural world.  Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, the planet of love, beauty, as well as value and everything we find valuable (including money).  Natives with Taurus in their natal chart are all about pleasure.  They recieve everything in their world according to their senses.  Taurus is an Earth sign, which in astrology represents practicality, sensuality, and stability.  Taurus is also a FIXED sign, representing stability and power. Taurus's opposite sign: Scorpio. Taurus is by far the most stable and sensible sign in the zodiac. Natives with this sign always seem to be calmer than other people and may be attracted to peaceful environments.  They may have a tendency to be lazy and may enjoy relaxing more than doing anything else.  A quality that is most prominent in these natives are their determined (albeit a bit stubborn) streaks.  They may hold on to things for long periods of time and may have a tendency to prefer the old rather than the new. They can be rigidly traditional in their views and dogmatic.  Being ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty and charm, there is something very pleasant and graceful about them. Venus is also a planet affiliated with the arts and aesthetic appreciations. Natives with Taurus in their natal chart may also have this deep appreciation, especially when it comes to music. Growing up, natives with planets in Taurus may have had experiences involving the "finer" things in life. Because Taurus is ruled by Venus, Venus will always influence the expression of Taurus, along with Venus's position in the natal chart.

The way Taurus will express depends on the planet that has entered this sign in the astrological charts. Every planet highlights varying qualities according to the planet's characteristics.  The following descriptions are the different types of "Taurus" positions we may encounter in astrology. Note: Positive and negative aspects can influence the way a planet is expressed. The more negative an expression, the more setbacks there will be. With more positive aspects, there will be more advantages. (Natives with Venus aspecting any of the following planets may relate to these descriptions). To make a birth chart, visit www.astro.com)

Sun in Taurus: The Ego of a Bull

The sun is the planet of the ego, pride, identity, leadership, and attention.  These natives are the most proud bulls we will find.  The sun is typically a star, rather than an actual planet, and its sunshine is exactly why it has been attributed with attention, leadership, and identity. The sun is, after all the source of life on planet earth.

Natives with this position are confident, yet they are easygoing about it.  They pride themselves on staying calm in every situation and they never seem to break a sweat when other people try to disrespect them. They are proud of who they are and what they have gained in life, yet they may not feel they need to do too much to prove it.  They hardly ever ask for more than what they already have.  This is a very sensible and practical placement.  It is only when the things they have are in danger of being taken from them that they become more hostile. These natives may be very physical in regards to how they see themselves. They may identify too closely with their values and they may determine the natures of people by what a person wears or how they behave in public. They may believe that when a person looks the part, they are the part. This superficial understanding of things makes it difficult for them to focus on the inside of an individual. This is a content position that can be both determined and yet stubborn.  They may be faithful to their own perspectives and they have a tendency to stick to what they feel is the most comfortable for them, even if it is not reasonable. The upside to these natives is that they are determined and stable leaders.  When they take on leadership positions, they never give up on their positions and will do whatever it takes to maintain it. While they may not be as open to change as much as other natives, they always know how to make others feel comfortable under their authority. In fact, they may be the best at preserving old traditions or monuments/artifacts, as well as nature. They tend to express themselves phenomenally through the arts, especially through music. They are some of the most influential artists we will ever encounter. They are proud of whatever they have created, and they may not take well to criticism in this regard. (Natives with the sun in the 2nd house may relate to this description). Remember, Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, therfore Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

Moon in Taurus: The Emotions of a Bull

The moon in astrology represents our emotional needs and reactions, as well as our memories, habits, and dreams.  These natives may be the most emotional bulls we will find. The moon is not literally a planet scientifically...it is typically a sattelite that surrounds certain planets.  The planet Earth has only one moon, yet this moon influences our life on earth in more ways than one. It not only lights the darkness on earth, but it also controls the tides of the sea. It is even responsible for the Co2 that plant life recieves.  The moon is seen as a supportive planet to the earth, and this is also represented in astrology. The moon is considered exalted in the sign of Taurus.  The moon is a planet that represents our need for emotional stability. Taurus is quite stable and thus provides the moon with complete comfort and serenity. For more information on dignities/debilities, visit my other page (venussigns.wix.com/planetarydignities).

Natives with this position are possibly the most stable natives emotionally.  They are normally calm and serene in their temperament, but their feelings on things are very strong which could cause a change in their normally stable moods.  This is because they do not do well with dramatic types of lifestyles. They may have grown up in an environment that was either peaceful and stable or dramatic to the point they seek peace in every aspect of their life. They would prefer to have a life that is uncomplicated.  Even when met with emotional stings, they try to appear and remain strong inside. They want security emotionally, which can sometimes keep them in really bad relationships or marriages. They do not deal well with changes; this will upset their mood. When they commit to something, they have a hard time letting it go. This also applies to grudges. Once you hurt them, it is hard for them to be forgiving. They are stubborn and when they are attached to something (whether it is a traditional belief, person, or other valuables) they will be obstinate about getting rid of these things. (This may sometimes cause them to accumulate clutter).  They get really jealous of people that have things that they desire. They are possessive of their lovers and friends, thus they do not deal well with break ups. They have simple needs: food, shelter, clothing, and a car is always on their list. They are simple people who simply want to live a pleasurable, stable, and overall happy life.  If their life is not as pleasurable, they can be over-indulgent.  They have a tendency to be shop-a-holics and may even have strong addictive behaviors. They can't seem to decipher needs from wants (especially if the moon is aspecting Venus).  They have excellent senses, but they are unassuming. They only judge people on the basis of how a person treats them initially. For them, your first impression must be your best. They are possibly one of the best people to be in a committed relationship with.  They believe in love and loyalty. They will never abandon the ones they love no matter what. (Natives that have moon in the 2nd house may relate to this description).  Remember, Venus is the ruling planet of Taurus, therefore Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

Mercury in Taurus: The Intellect of a Bull

Mercury is the planet of the mind and communication. It is also the planet of skills and transportation.  These natives are the more intellectual bulls we we will find.  Astronomically, Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, as well as one of the smallest in our solar system. It has the most inconsistent orbit around the sun (Mercury tends to retrograde or go "backwards" in signs often). Mercury is usually positioned in a sign near the sun's distance within a sign, or in the same sign as the sun.

Natives with this position are practical and sensible.  They are focused on developing skills that can apply to their real life.  They are not the types to study or become educated for the sake of learning or growing (unless something tangible will come from it).  Despite this, they have excellent memories and the more they practice something, the more proficient they become.  True, they are not the quickest natives in the bunch.  They understand things better when things are simple. However, they are in no way unintelligent. In fact, this position has one of the most studious minds because of their ability to apply what they learn.  They may have excellent gardening skills or they may be excellent craftspeople. They may also be good at banking or any field that requires handling or making money. They may also be really good singers or songwriters. They are not the types to openly voice their views on things and may be generally quiet. Yet, they are quite fixed in their mindsets. Once they've made up their minds about something, there is no point in trying to change their minds.  They may feel they are always right, no matter what anyone says. Don't misunderstand, they are not the types to argue to make their points made.  They just simply have their own views and they want everyone to respect it, as they would others. (Natives with Mercury in the 2nd house may relate to this description).  Remember, Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, thus Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

Venus in Taurus: The Charm of a Bull

Venus is the planet of love, beauty, and anything we find valuable.  It is also the planet of aesthetic appreciation.  Venus is the bightest planet and the hottest planet in our solar system.  From earth, it is often called the "morning" or the "evening" star. Venus is considered in domicile or "at home" in the sign of Taurus.  This is because Venus is the ruler of Taurus. This "dignitiy" means that natives with this position will fully express the natures of the planet naturally.Just like Mercury, Venus is usually positioned in one or two signs away from the sun's position, and is sometimes positioned in the same sign as the sun. (venussigns.wix.com/planetarydignities).

Natives with this position are very sensual and affectionate.  A big hug and a sweet kiss is all they need to feel good. They love to be loved and they need this in their life always.  They are not necessarily concerned about having many friends or lovers; they just want really loyal and caring friends and lovers.  However, they are peace-loving. They don't like dissension; they would rather everyobody be at peace with one another.  While they do want to be loved, they are not the types to rush love.  They typically prefer to get to know people and let love grow.  If anyone is too pushy with these natives, this could be a turn off.  Once they do get in a relationship with someone, they can be really possessive.  If they are the jealous types, you will see the less pleasant sides to them. They enjoy the finer things in life, whether it's new clothes, fine foods, a new car, or a beautiful object of affection.  When they like something (or someone) they just have to touch, smell, and indulge. This can sometimes turn into overindulgence at times. They are gracious, poised, and composed, which is apart of their charm. They tend to be pleasant and polite with everyone, even people they may not really like.  They sometimes judge people based on appearances and they feel uncomfortable with mannerisms they are not familiar with.  They have a distinct taste that is all their very own. This is usually reflected in their fashion style.  They like to be comfortable, and they need to be in comfortable environments in order to feel good.  Natives with this position may have natural singing abilities or other musical talents. Even if they don't they highly appreciate music and art. They may also have an interest in nature. (Natives with Venus in the 2nd house may relate to this description).

Venus in Taurus Celebrities: Johnny Depp, Ariana Grande, Jessie J, Fergie, Leonardo Da Vinci, Marlon Brando, Steven Tyler, Jackie Chan, Kanye West, Prince, Chuck Norris, Charlie Chaplin, Che Guevara, Jessica Alba, Iggy Azalea, Lana Del Rey, Alanis Morissette, Paul McCartney, Mark Zuckerberg, James Franco, Liv Tyler, Rene Descartes, Idina Menzel, Michael Phelps, Amanda Bynes, Karl Marx, Michael J. Fox, Cyndi Lauper, Richard Wagner, Ella Fitzgerald, Randy Orton, James Brown, Sam Smith, Ice Cube, Ashley Tisdale, Boy George, John Wayne, Debbie Reynolds, Princess Diana, Prince William

Mars in Taurus: The Energy of a Bull

Mars is the planet of action, energy, passion, and sexuality. It is also a planet that represents our fighting style and our focus.  Naturally, Mars is the red planet of our solar system, hence why it was affiliated with war and bloodshed.  Mars is considered in detriment in Taurus by many traditional astrologers. Mars may feel uncomfortable in this sign because the nature of Taurus is very different from it.  Taurus is a pleasure-seeking sign; Mars is a planet of challenges.  Natives with this position may feel as if they are always in the most uncomfortable situations in their life or they may act in inappropriate ways at inappropriate times. (venussigns.wix.com/planetarydignities).

Natives with this position are determined and strong.  They do what they want to do when they want to do it. When they have a goal in mind, they stick to it and slowly but surely work their way towards their goals.  Sometimes, they can be a little too slow when it comes to accomplishing goals. And they will not be rushed! They are stubborn in this regard, because they prefer to follow a stable routine or method. They may procrastinate sometimes and may only be motivated when they see tangible rewards. They are comfort-loving people, and they only do things they are comfortable doing. They sometimes misjudge and underestimate the strengths of others.  They may equate strength with something more physical and may not see the true strength and energy that lies within individuals. They may also overestimate or underestimate their own strengths.  There are some of these natives that never feel strong enough. Yet there are also natives of this position that tend to have bullying-like behavior, where they try to intimidate others who are weaker than they are.  This is because they are hiding one insecurity: that they are really peace loving.  But they can't let others know this right?  If it was up to these natives they would relax all day, and indulge in their senses. They are often classified as the silent warriors because they are usually easygoing but strong.  Sexually, it is sometimes hard to get them passionate.  They need their senses to be attended to in order to feel any sort of passion.  While they are slow to build up sexual passion, when they do get riled up they never ever want to stop!  This is the case with everything in their lives.  While these natives are normally very steady and calm, if you mess with them for too long their built up temper will explode. And again...once they get started it is hard for them to stop.  They do well in artistic or creative fields because that is when they tend to be more passionate. (Natives with Mars in the 2nd house may relate to this description). Remember, Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, therefore Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position. Note: Venus and Mars are two different planets, and so when they come together it may cause much tension in the lives of the natives.

Mars in Taurus Celebrities: Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, Charlie Choplin, Jessica Alba, Celine Dion, Kanye West, Isaac Newton, Mick Jagger, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, Robert De Niro, Lucy Lawless, Kate Moss, Keira Knightley, Christian Bale, Paul Walker, Muhammad Ali, Liv Tyler, 50 Cent, Miranda Kerr, Janet Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Courtney Cox, Kesha, Jack White, Tim Burton, George Sand, Chuck Norris, Sade Adu, Leona Lewis, Brock Lesner, Queen Latifah

Jupiter in Taurus: The Spirit of a Bull

Jupiter is the planet of luck, chance, philosophies, faith, and expansion.  Astrologically, Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system.  The most interesting part about this outer planet is that it is made of mostly gas, rather than a solid surface like on earth.  Jupiter usually lasts an entire year in one sign at a time (unless it goes retrogade).  This means that the position of Jupiter will affect an entire peer group.

Natives with this position seem to be fortunate when it comes to finances.  They have talents that usually give them many opportunities to earn money. Or their opportunities may come because they are very optimistic when they are presented with a chance to get more.  Of course, they are the most patient when it comes to opportunities. Even if things do not come right away, they usually wait until it does because they have faith that eventually they will get what they want while relying on their senses to give them a sign.  When it comes to the arts, they tend to be quite inspiring.  They may make really good art teachers or singing coaches because of their enthusiasm in these areas.  They may have very traditional beliefs that they follow and they may be quite rigid in these beliefs.  It is very difficult to convince them otherwise.  They may be very interested in nature, such as animal care or gardening.  They may enjoy the idea of living on a farm with lots of land to roam on.  They may be very interested in studying about old ancient relics or monuments.  In fact, they may enjoy collecting many vintage or retro things.  They may be the most overindulgent of all Taurean placements. When they get money, they may have a tendency to blow it all on anything they see, even if it is not necessary.  They are not the most generous placement either, which can cause their luck to grow thinner eventually. This is also the most peace-loving placement of all Taurean positions.  They may travel to peaceful places in the world, or they may be interested in philosophies that encourage peace. (Natives with Jupiter in the 2nd house may relate to this description).  Remember, Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, therefore Venus's placement in the natal chart will influence this position.

Jupiter in Taurus Celebrities: Martin Luther King, Mahatma Ghandi, Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, Bruce Lee, Orlando Bloom, Pablo Picasso, Audrey Hepburn, Joan Baez, Robert Downey Jr, Courtney Love, Monica Cruz, Colin Farrell, Bob Dylan, Ryan Reynolds, Adele, Patrick Swayze, Vanessa Hudgens, Chris Martin, Michael Fassbender, Sarah Jessica Parker, Andy Warhol, Lenny Kravitz, Courtney Cox, Ringo Starr, Mickey Rourke, Jessie J, Floyd Mayweather Jr, The undertaker, Christopher Reeve, Chris Rock, Hayley Williams, Robin Thicke

Saturn in Taurus: The Discipline of a Bull

Saturn is the planet of limitations, restrictions/boundaries, discipline, maturity, law, and order.  The planet Saturn is astronomically recognized by the "rings" that surround the planet.  It is one of the gas planets in our solar system and it is also considered an outer planet.  Saturn usually lasts 3 years in one sign at a time, therefore it will influence an entire peer group.

Natives with this position are very focused on maintaining security.  They are possibly the most frugal Taurean natives.  They may be the types to keep a savings account or they may stash money in places just in case for a rainy day.  They may have been taught to take good care of their things growing up, and so they do their best to keep their things in good condition.  This is a great quality of theirs, especially if they are interested in going into managerial jobs or banking. They may have a deep respect for nature and art.  They may be good at preserving old monuments or artifacts.  They may be interested in floral arrangements.  They may also be excellent music producers.  Any field with artistic arrangements would be perfect for them. They may even make perfect models! A problem that people may encounter with these natives is that they can be quite a scrooge who does not share their valuables with others.  They may be highly conservative, and may feel the old methods are the best methods.  This rigidity can make it difficult for them to try new things.  It is difficult to convince them otherwise without a sensible, practical, or more comfortable reason.  The best thing about these natives is that they respect ownership, whether it be valuables or a lover.  They are not the types to take something (or someone) that belongs to another purposely.  They tend to be traditional when it comes to relationships (this of course can be influenced by their Venus sign).  (Natives that have Saturn in the 2nd house may relate to this description).  Remember, Taurus is ruled by Venus, therefore Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

Uranus in Taurus: The Innovation of a Bull

Uranus is the planet of innovation, originality, revolution, progress/change, genius, and causes.  Uranus astronomically is one of the most unique planets, particularly because it orbits on its side unlike most planets.  This may be the reason this planet is so affiliated with innovation and originality.  This planet is also one of the "ice giants" because it is mostly made up of ice particles. Uranus is conidered a generational planet because it can last up to 7 or 8 years in one sign. Modern astrologers consider Uranus as falling in the sign of Taurus.  This means that Uranus may lack the ability to make changes more readily in this sign.  The sign of Taurus is after all a sign of tradition and convention, which makes change difficult. Natives with this position may feel that progress is slower for their generation than for generations before them. (venussigns.wix.com/planetarydignities).

Natives with this position are quite innovative when it comes to art, music, fashion, and pretty much anything involving the arts.  They have original taste which is usually implemented in anything they create or invent.  They may also be innovative when it comes to making or maintaing money. While this is not the most progressive generation, they may focus most of their rebellious energy on preserving peace, nature, or treasured traditions.  They may be the oddest teenagers ever...because instead of constantly wanting things to change, they may be more concerned about holding on to the things they love.  Speaking of love, they may have odd, yet genius ideas on love and relationships as well.  They may also take up causes for monetary reasons. An uncomfortable lifestyle makes them even more rebellious. They may have many obstacles because while they want to keep a comfortable lifestyle, they also want things to change for the better.  This may make them seem extremely complicated to others. (Natives with Uranus in the 2nd house may relate to this description). Remember, Taurus is ruled by Venus, therefore Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

Uranus in Taurus Celebrities: Brigitte Bardot, Al Pacino, Bruce Lee, Jack Nicholson, Joan Baez, Vincent Van Gogh,Sigmund Freud, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, Woddy Allen, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Muhammad Ali, Johann Sebastian Bach, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Wood, Chuck Norris, Morgan Freeman, Dustin Hoffman, Bill Cosby, Martha Stewart,Warren Beatty, Julie Andrews, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye

Neptune in Taurus: The Innocence of a Bull

Neptune is astrologically the planet of illusions, impressionability, mercy, guilt, creativity, and aspirations.  It is the planet that represents the universal law of oneness.  Astronomically, it is considered an "ice giant", because it is mostly made up of ice.  It is a bluish color, hence why it has been named after the god of the sea, Neptune.  Neptune is considered a generational planet, because it can last up to 12 or 13 years in one sign, therefore influencing an entire generation.

Natives with this position are fancifal when it comes to money, comforts, and love.  They are easily captivated by anything that looks beautiful and they may easily fall into a spell when around beautiful people and things, no matter how many consequences may follow.  They may dream of living the life of luxury.  They may feel that money is the only thing that can solve all of their problems in life.  They may be spiritually in tune with nature.  They may have compassion for animals and may be really good at handling plants.  They may have compassion for those who do not live a physically comfortable life.  They may possibly be the most generous Taureans and they may believe that kindness can bring the world together. They may equally be depressed or pity themselves if they are not living the lifestyle they envision for themselves. They could either be quite psychic when it comes to investments or gullible. They may have strong faith in whatever the believe.  It is hard to convince them that there is absolutely no creator of our world.  Conversly, there may be natives of this postion that may only believe in things that they can see.  Once they believe in something, it is hard to convince them otherwise.  They may get lost in their traditions, because traditions make them feel safer.  They are quite an artistic generation, and may express their creativity best through music or art.  (Natives with Neptune in the 2nd house may relate to this description).  Remember, Taurus is ruled by Venus, therefore Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

Neptune in Taurus Celebrities: Albert Einsten, Pablo Picasso, Carl Jung, Coco Chanel, Franz Kafka, Otto Klemperer, Paul Klee, Giacomo Casanova, Immanuel Kant, Virginia Woolf, Alice Bailey, Srinivasa Ramanujan, Jean-JacquesRousseau, Hellen Keller, Hermann Hesse, Isadora Duncan, James Joyce, Niels Bohr, Rene Guenon, Jack London, Diego Rivera, Francis Bacon, Denis Diderot, Gustav Holst, D.H.                       Pluto in Taurus: The Power of a Bull

Pluto is the planet of power, transformation, loss, destruction, depth, enlightenment, and darkness. Pluto is not one of the classified planets that surround the sun. Rather it is classifed as a dwarf planet. It is the largest dwarf planet in our solar system.  It is at a farther distance than all the other planets mentioned, and thus is considered one of the coldest objects in our solar system.  It has one of the most complicated orbits as well.  It is considered a generational planet astrologically, and it can last from 12 years to 31 years in one sign at a time. This planet, by far, has the strongest impact on generations.  Pluto is considered in detriment in the sign of Taurus according to some modern astrologers.  This is because Pluto is such a destructive planet and Taurus is a sign seeking security.  This mismatch causes uncomfortability unfortunately. This generation may not handle power in a comfortable or appropriate way. (venussigns.wix.com/planetarydignities).

Natives with this position have the power of love on their side.  They may want to spread love in the world and they may wish to have peace on earth.  This is after all a security-oriented generation.  They do not do well with loss.  When there is destruction, they would rather restore everything back to the way it was.  This could be a generation that is intensely traditional to the point they will fight to hold on to traditions. They may be extemely conservative to the point they reprimand anyone who does not conform to standard behaviors or ideas.  While this is a generation that seeks power like any native, they may rely on money or other material things to gain such powers.  This could be a good thing or a bad thing if taken too far.  They may want to secure their money by using a banking system or a safe.  They fear the loss of material things and security more than anything, and so they may keep money hidden somewhere where they can make sure only they can access it.  They may be more tempted to steal when their security is threatened.  They may be the wealthiest generation of all time because they know how to find riches anywhere.  They may be good at mining or archaeology of some kind.                   North Node in Taurus: The Future Life of a Bull

The north node is one of the invisible ecliptic points, reflecting the path of the moon as it crosses over the sun. In Vedic astrology, the north node is more representative of the solar eclipse. The north node represents our future life and the events that may lead us to our future. It is our karmic destiny; our spiritual purpose.  It may be the life we long for, or it may the life that seems to come to us even when we do not necessarily feel comfortable with it.  The north node is considered the least comfortable between the two lunar nodes.  Yet, through the north node we find true fulfillment. We may even develop new skills along the way. The north node is usually in the sign opposite the south node, the other ecliptic point.

Natives of this position may be longing for a more peaceful and stable life.  Or they may see that their life is headed in a more stable direction, even though they naturally want to shake things up (south node in Scorpio).  They may see these new experiences as hard to adapt to at first because their past life is so different from their future life.  Or they may find this life easier to adapt to because it guarentees a more comfortable lifestyle. With these new experiences, these natives have the chance to develop new skills.  They may eventually develop creative abilities.  They may also gain the ability to put others at ease. They may even learn how to maintain all the great things they have and make money.  They may gain a new understanding of life through nature as well. (Natives with the north node in the 2nd house may relate to this description). Remember, Taurus is ruled by Venus, therefore Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

The South Node in Taurus: The Past Life of a Bull

The south node is one of the invisible ecliptic points, reflecting the path of the moon as it crosses paths with the sun.  In Vedic astrology, the south node is affiliated with the lunar eclipse.  The south node represents our past life.  This is the life we are more used to; either we feel bored with it or we may try to hold on to this life.  Regardless, we may have natural abilities that have come from our past life, and we may be able to use these abilities to help us on our journey through the north node. Some astrologers encourage natives to move away from the past life. Unfortunately, the past life and habits is not something you can run away from.  The best thing to do is to balance the talents from the past life, with the newly developed skills of the future life. The south node sign is usually opposite the north node sign.

Natives with this position may have lived a more stable life in the past.  Some natives may be bored with this ordinary and routine lifestyle, thus they may be seeking a more exciting life (north node in Scorpio).  Of course, there are some that would rather hold on to the more stable lifestyle.  They may feel uncomfortable with the changes presented in the future life, especially because it is so different from their past and not nearly as comfortable.  To those who embrace their north node destiny or purpose, there are many talents they could use from their past life.  These natives have natural creativity, especially in the arts. They may know exactly how to find money or other resources. They may naturally know how to put others at ease, as well. (Natives with the south node in the 2nd house may relate to this description). Remember, Taurus is ruled by Venus, which means that Venus's position in the natal chart will influence this position.

Chiron in Taurus: The Wounded Bull

Chiron is the planet of wounds that need to be healed.  It is scientifically a dwarf planet with lesser astrological significance than Pluto, but more significance than the asteroids Ceres, Juno, Pallas, and Vesta. It tells the story of pain, but a way to heal that pain.

Natives with Chiron in Taurus have a wounded sense of comfort, pleasure, self-worth, and stability.   They get a little too comfortable with their pain and are slow to heal as a result.  Inside, they'd rather overlook it and they may use material things to overcome it.  But they must look inside of themselves to find what it is that has value to them.  It may require them to step away from the material world into a spiritual one.  They have the potential to create beautiful things from their suffering.  This might be a more positive form of healing for them.
