Sports Challenge

The interest of a sport usually  starts with the mind for Mars in Gemini natives.  They are curious by nature and are always ready to try something new.  The more interested they are, the more passionate they will be.  This is of course a changeable energy.  Their passions do not last long because they get bored rather easily.  Whatever sports challenge they take on must always have something new to offer every time.  Olympic games such as gymnastics,  may have a lot of options for these natives where they can  change things up and make use of their flexibility.  Basketball, Golf, International football (soccer), and baseball may also be fun and interesting sports for these natives.  Chess is considered a sport in some countries, as well as irish dancing.  These natives may be drawn to sports like these because they are also mentally stimulating and unique.  These natives have the ability to pick up on new skills rather quickly. They  may be good at more than one sport.   If they can learn to focus on one sports challenge at a time, they may be able to accomplish more.

Competitive Energy

As stated before, Mars in Gemini natives are all about the mind.  When they compete, they are constantly thinking of clever ways to win.  They are tricky when they are in the field; opponents must be watchful.  Curiosity inspires their passions.  Games that require mental challenge will be in their favor.  However, they tend to lose their passion for winning when they are bored.  These natives may not last long in competitions that are too long.  They have a tendency to give up, which will most certainly not benefit them. They may need to develop more mental and physical discipline in order to focus on their goals.  Some natives with this position may pretend to  give up, only to surprise their opponents with a comeback.  This is a common tactic among these natives, in order to manipulate opponents to let their guard down.   These natives are also known to use their words to "psych" opponents out.  Distraction is a strong method.  Surprisingly, they don't take competitions too seriously.  For them, everything they do is all for fun and games.  Even if they lose, for these natives it was fun while it lasted.

Note: Natives with aspects from Mercury to Mars or natives who have Mercury in the 3rd house may relate to this description.  Since Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the Mercury sign, the house position of Mercury, and the planetary aspects to Mercury will influence this position.

Famous Quote from a Mars in Gemini Athlete: "No Matter how good you are, you can always get better and that is the exciting part".
