Sports Challenge
Mars in Aquarius natives are original in every way. They always want to do something "different" and they may take on challenges that reflect their original mind. Their need to go against the grain will influence them to take on sports that are quite unusual. Chess, Irish dancing, cricket...sports that are generally considered "odd" will never turn these natives away. Yet, many famous athletes have this position, even athletes who are involved in mainstream sports. These natives may feel more comfortable performing with others, thus may especially be drawn to team sports such as basketball, football, baseball, volleyball, etc. They may test their abilities in a variety of different sports before making final decisions. As with anything, they don't like to be identified athletically. They want as much freedom as possible to experiment with different types of sports. These natives may also be interested in daring or dangerous sports such as Nascar racing or extreme sports. These natives may enjoy living life on the "wild" side, so any sport that makes them feel wild, rebellious, and innovative will be ideal for them. These natives may be interested in sports organizations that are involved with humanitarian/philanthropic causes.
Competitive Energy
These natives are quite innovative when they are competing to win. They may always be full of many ideas that, to some, may seem crazy yet to others genius. Their mind influences their actions...they are air signs after all. They tend to be more passionate when there is a genius yet efficient game plan being executed. Experimentation itself may also be motivating. These natives do have a tendency to be spontaneous. They may have many plans in their heads that they don't often convey to others in a clear manner. This is usually one of their attempts to be different, but it can be frustrating if they are competing with teammates. Despite how random they can be, they may prefer working in teams; working for a team effort gets them energized! These natives know how to bend the rules in their favor. They will use "ins-and-outs" to win a game, which is usually done by having done extensive research on their "rights" as athletes. Their need to try a variety of different things in life can make them inconsistent. They may need to learn to be more dedicated to the one sport that they have decided to take on if they ever want to benefit from a sports career of some sort. These natives may be interested in coaching others. They have so many fantastic ideas which could be more beneficial when helping those who also want to pursue a specific sports career.
Note: Natives with Saturn/Uranus aspecting Mars or natives with Mars in the 11th house may relate to this description. Aquarius is ruled by Saturn/Uranus, therefore Saturn/Uranus's position in the signs, houses, and the planetay aspects to these two planets will influence this position.
Famous Quote from a Mars in Aquarius Athlete: "I always try to start out with some type of goal. Then I work backward and think of what I need to do to get there, and give myself smaller goals that are more immediate."
